A few pictures from AHDRA III.  This was Goodnight Starship’s second competition, and he did quite well Saturday.  Not bad for a horse who we didn’t start driving until September.  Sunday the vets wouldn’t let Pistol Pete go, so Goodie had to go by himself, which was a first for him.  Again, he surprised us and did well.  The rain on Sunday didn’t dampen the spirit of competition amongst those who were driving.

It should be noted that three of the five drivers did a flying dismount on the trail, and a couple were in the same place on the trail.  It should also be noted that for some reason it was the gentleman who did the dismount, not the ladies.  Do men and women have different driving styles or methods?  An interesting philosophical question.

Tony did an excellent job of creating the route.  It was a technically challenging trail with a lot of tight turns, ruts, deep sand, and some very narrow spots.   I think all of us knocked down a few saplings and shrubs along the way.  :-)

Cheers,
Alice
