Notes from Ruth Casserly

We had small numbers at K&B ride in all divisions, but everyone had a wonderful time. I think people were spooked by the weather prediction and the lack of conditioning time with their horses. However, you all missed a GREAT weekend! The rain stopped mid-afternoon on Friday leaving nothing but blue skies, perfect temps and yes, spongy ground in the campground.

Tim was the only driver, and he, Bach and Harley went out both days. We were terribly fortunate to have the able assistance of Lori Schoofs, who volunteered to groom for Tim on Saturday so I could ride Sam. It was nice to have some time after the drive finished to picnic and visit with Lori. On Sunday I groomed for Tim.

This is only our second time driving at the Northern Kettle Moraine park. Wow, what a difference from the Southern/Palmyra park! The trails were fantastic for riding and driving! There is no sand and there’s not much for rocks. And experiencing the trails at this time of year was perfect- the trees had not leafed out so you could see the kettles and the moraines, such a beautiful area! It’s a wonderful place for driving or riding!
Sorry, there are no pictures.
