We’re glad you stopped by to visit our website on distance driving. Perhaps you’ve just discovered MDDA and want to learn more about just what we do. Perhaps you’ve come to check the schedule to see when and where competitive drives are being held or check the results of past drives. Or perhaps you are just interested in looking at some photographs of our horses and drivers at the various competitions. Whatever the reason, thanks for browsing and drop us a line if we can answer any questions or be of service to you.

Are you ready to DRIVE?

Ray and I have been a bit remiss in updating the website, and we apologize.  But, now that spring is allegedly just around the corner, we are looking forward to another great driving season.

There are currently 38 driving events this upcoming season, over 14 weekends, from May through October.   There are seven six-mile drives and four 25-mile drives, with many distances in between.  On the first weekend in May there is a new drive in Hinkley MN, as well as Kettles and Bits in New Prospect, WI.

We would love to see you out on the trail.  Whether you are new to the sport, or have been doing it for a while, the goal of this sport is to spend quality time with our equine friends.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to another member.  If you aren’t sure if you are ready to compete (but you probably are :-)), join us at any of the events to observe or volunteer.  Ride managers are always looking for someone to help with taking pulse and respirations, marking trails, scribing for vets, etc.
