for some reason…
By Suze, on January 26th, 2012
for some reason unknown to me i found myself on a ‘page’ listing drivers and total miles cumulative for mdda and didn’t see my name, belle’s or our miles anywhere. seemed to show everyone who was ever in mdda. i just figured out going to 2009 totals was easiest so did that. but wow, jac, i’m impressed w/your tallying since my query. do we give ruth credit for the idea? Thanks to both of you!

May 13, 2012 | 11:49 pmHey, the first competition is in the books! What a terrific weekend for a drive in the forest. It appears to have been a busy weekend for the Southern Kettle. Read Alic’s comments under Events. And thanks to Alice we have some terrific photos. Congratulations to our 5 competitors. Sunday was a little disappointing Continue reading Glacier Trails 2012

- 2012 Schedule
March 4, 2012 | 7:10 pmI’ve taken the schedule posted on the UMECRA site, which appears to be ‘official’, modified for our use. Note: This year I’ve shown all days for an event. If there is no mileage shown for a day it means that no drive is scheduled. Although this is the ‘official’ schedule, I’ve noted a question Continue reading 2012 Schedule

I heard on NPR about gas spiking to $5/gal. but then too it was predicted this winter was going to be snow-mazing.
I am still bummed at the lack of snow. : <
N E Wayzzz, what I figured I'd do as I'm hoping/planning to get back to driving this year.
1. Shift my budget to compensate. Not quite robbing peter to pay paul. More like sell this to get that.
2. The further I have to travel the more options I'll want to see offered. Example; I won't drive 4 hours for a one day drive of 6 miles. But I would go five hours for three days offering 6's, 12's & 20's.
3. And if I only make it to 2 drives this year that's still more fun then none!
I cannot find where to start a new topic so I am just going to add my thoughts here. Is anyone else concerned about the price of gas going up and how it is goint to affect their competing in 2012. I did not compete at all in 2011 and really missed it. I wanted to really get back into it this year with my haflinger gelding Augustus, but if gas hits $5 like they said on the news last night it is really going to keep me home on the local trails. Which would really bumm me out. I could do Colorama because it is so close. Lori
must have been what I was looking at; top 20. got me curious what i did back then as i think about this year!
i enjoyed looking at who did what, when, etc. that you’ve been posting. thanks!
Susan,
I failed to note that the cumulative miles are limited to the ‘top 20′.
This is for the ‘Mileage’ award and it doesn’t seem appropriate to include all mileage records.
